In my book Leadership Is Everything, I emphasized the words of World War Prime Minister of Great Britain, Winston Churchill who said, “Attitude is only a little thing yet it does make a big difference.” Attitude is a mindset or a tendency to act in a particular way due to both an individual’s experience and temperament. It explains the way we see things. Attitude is not behaviour: though attitude can be expressed via behaviour. Behaviour is the 3rd and last component of attitude. Skill and knowledge can be certificated, but attitude cannot be.
Why?
Knowledge and skills can be easily seen on the surface and known by others, but attitude is submerged, and not seen by everyone. A positive attitude will get you anywhere. Period. Our workplaces are littered with workers and leaders with negative mental attitudes.

Leaders need a positive attitude badly. By the way, attitude constitutes over 75% block of leadership. Despite how wonderful skills, competencies and qualifications are, they are only less than 25% of how a leader emerges or succeeds. Attitude is formed, is developed, is changeable, and is improved. There is no way you will have people/teams with negative/bad attitudes and expect them to deliver, be productive, make a profit, and make progress. Impossible.
Solutions:
Develop them or arrange for someone to speak to them. You cannot get the harvest of the seed you didn’t plant.
