Living in peace is about living harmoniously with oneself, with others, and all emotional beings around you. It is one of the scariest commodities on earth, whether it be the inner self or between people. Every part of the world – countries, states, clans, and families are traceable to one “peaceless” condition or the other.
There’s no wonder to this fallout because Peace Himself, God says, “There is no peace, saith the LORD, unto the wicked.” [Isaiah 48:22, 57:21], and the same Holy Script says, “And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.” [1 John 5:19], “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” [Ephesians 6:12] and “Have respect unto the covenant: for the dark places of the earth are full of the habitations of cruelty.” [Psalm 74:20].
Teaching peace in a “peaceless” world is tough i.e. why people resort to teaching co-existence, democratic, and negotiated peace as alternatives to real things.
Watch our TV stations, read our newspapers, or listen to our radios, you see deliberate attempts of circumventing and hiding what makes for it and still be talking of co-existence, negotiated, and democratic co-existence. Too much hypocrisy is in the world. Too much doing the wrong thing and expecting another result is. Too much-doing wrong and only interested in personal gain is in the world. Wickedness “lieth in” and “cruelty is” the world as 1 John 5: 19 and Psalm 74:20 say.
Peace is one of the greatest gifts a man can receive from the Source of Peace [the Creator: GOD]. It is one of The BLESSING. In fact, peace is a blessing. The son of GOD was called Prince of Peace […and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. KJV Isaiah 9:6].
Incidentally, it is one of the elusive things to grab by humanity whether internally, with the next person, or in a group, workplace, marketplace, church/mosque. It is as elusive, misconstrued, and misunderstood/misinterpreted as love. That is the reason people look for them where they are not residing or found. I will explain:
Musicians, actors, and such stage performers sing love, love, love [which is a decision based on facts/things] when what they are expressing in their bodies, minds, and thoughts is lust, lust, lust [which is feelings based their bodies’ wetness and erection as a result of what their eyes can see.] thereby confusing the simple-hearted and the naïve to continue searching endlessly for what is not hidden/lost.
This is the same way people especially politicians talk about peace, peace, peace [nature, gift, and blessings of the Almighty God on the BASIS of justice, fairness, and equity when they want to express co-existence, democratic and negotiated peace,] thereby confusing the simple-hearted and the ignorance.
If you can have peace WITHIN you and AROUND you, what then are you looking for?
Peace is like happiness, it doesn’t depend on another person offering it to you. You make up your mind for it. You determine if you are interested in any or two of them. Many things in life require you answering are you interested to have it or not.
Nobody makes you happy. No, no, no, no! You choose it…chose to be happy. The same is peace. You choose to be at it, have it, enjoy it, and get it. Even when on a battlefront, you can have it. Why? You choose to.
To the ancient oriental culture, and even now, it is the greatest offering more than GREETING, a visitor/guest offers to his host/hostess and the same host/hostess off same to guest/visitor, “PEACE BE UNTO YOU”. Many people don’t understand the wording of greetings. Many take the wording of their greeting for granted. But it wasn’t so when that word was created by the first users. Greetings are prophetic, declarative, and proclamation, and you should start understanding them as such, otherwise stop greeting or accepting them.
Peace more than greeting denotes not just the absence of conflicts but safety, wholesomeness, wholeness, completeness, blessings, and well-being in all relationships of life.
Peace is God’s blessing for all his people and comes as a gift package from Him, from Jesus, and from The Holy Spirit. It was proclaimed at the BIRTH of Jesus and achieved at the Cross [DEATH], “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:” Romans 5:1, 10. We receive it at justification through faith and develop a close walk with Holy Spirit, the type the wicked do not have. Isaiah 48:22.
A few Facts We must Know Here
- We need to be made conscious of the peace we have in and with Him.
- Peace is a blessing from the SOURCE
- The primary and only source of peace is JESUS.
- The source of peace cannot be alcohol, money, gluttony, power, immorality, strange gods
- Peace cannot be got from wrong assumptions, premises, and cover-up
- Peace is sought after, followed up, prayed for, and pursued
- Peace and wickedness don’t work in the same part. Isaiah 57: 21, 48:22
- Peace and injustice don’t work the same road. “Justice and judgment are the habitation of thy throne: mercy and truth shall go before thy face.” Psalm 89:14, Jeremiah 50:7 23:5.
- Living in peace is a journey, a choice, and a will to live and coexist without troubles.
While one will find one’s own meanings of peaceful existence and outward manifestations of a peaceful lifestyle according to one’s beliefs and lifestyle, there are some basics underpinning living in harmony that cannot be discounted, such as being non-violent, being tolerant, holding moderate views, and celebrating wondrous-life.
