[Why I wrote this volume 1: Leadership Is Everything!]

When an organization fails to increase her share value, maximize shareholder’s wealth or gain a comfortable market position, the Board of Directors gathers at the Annual General Meeting or Extraordinary Emergency Meeting; their primary decision and most important recommendation is the dropping, removal/sacking of the CEO and the search for a replacement.

When a soccer, basketball, or any sports team performs poorly or loses expected-to-win matches, especially in a major tournament, the directors of the team meet to decide and recommend, the fan club recommends, and sports commentators analyze and recommend the sacking of the chief coach and the search for a replacement.

The school or institution is in a troublesome quagmire, with incessant strikes and riots; the society, parents, students, alumni body, and governing council recommend the sack of the Vice-Chancellor, the Rector, the Provost, the Principal, or the Headmaster/Headmistress, and the search for a replacement.

The church / voluntary organization is not growing horizontally and vertically, attendance is dropping, the surviving membership recommends the sack of the pastor/coordinator where he is ‘sackable’ and search for a replacement, or they leave for another place if the man cannot be sacked, perhaps he is the founder.

The governmental system is collapsing. The economy is drowning, and the cost of living is soaring. Insecurity of property and life, corruption and ineptitude, anarchy and lawlessness, riots and restiveness, insurgence and terrorism, unemployment—the people not only recommend, but they start SEEKING a change through their voting power. The #1 place of interest is the change of president, governor, or chairman, not even the head of the legislature or judiciary. 

The family; immediate or extended is going through hell; no adequate provisions, protection and upkeep [maintenance], the children by instinct conclude that ‘daddy is not man-enough‘ and he has failed as a father, and so they pitch their tent [trust] on mummy, thereby recommending a change of baton which translates to support for ‘mama’. If it is in an extended family, the extended family recommends a new family headship.

There is something about leadership that many people take for granted to their peril.

People believe so much in leadership, and that’s ok. 100% Correct.

God believes so much in leadership, and that’s ok. 100% Correct.

 In leadership, both the Creator and man believe the same thing and hold that same belief with the same tenacity.

When men make a leadership decision, the Creator concurs [stamps]. That is why sometimes, the Creator influences the emergence of a leader or leadership by Himself, since HE knows that if HE doesn’t, whoever the people bring, HE will concur.

The Creator concurs by transferring privileges to this office that whoever disobeys the office holder disobeys the Creator and the authority constituting it. Why?

Why Does the Creator Behave Like That?

  • HE was the foremost, is, and will be the #1 leader
  • HE is the Leader of ALL leaders.
  • HE believes in leadership.
  • The nature HE created abhors leadership VACUUM.

Most things we see in society, associations, organizations, and institutions are symptoms of the failure of the main thing – leadership. The unfortunate thing is that people leave the main thing and address the symptoms. Addressing the symptoms gives you temporary relief, not a permanent solution.

Somebody having malaria sickness who takes a pain reliever like paracetamol® can have a temporary relief of the symptom, i.e., high temperature [fever] reduced for a few hours, but not even a temporary relief from malaria because the malaria sickness is not yet addressed medically. Until the root cause of the high temperature, which is malaria, is addressed, the sick person is still sick. So it is with societal, organizational, and group symptoms of mis-leadership. The symptoms – poor performance, conflicts here and there, loss in market positions or reduction in performance, fall in market value, collapse of order, indiscipline, corruption, etc., all point to serious challenges of weakness, failure, and or dearth of leadership.

Leadership is the SINGLE most important factor that contributes to the success or failure of any person, system, organization, or group.

Leadership is everything! But everything is not leadership.

Leadership is not one of the most important things in life. Leadership is.

It is everything, not some things.

Corruption, ineptitude, poor performance, poor economy, etc., all point to leadership failure; they cannot collapse the person, the system, the enterprise, the nation, the organization, or group, but the leadership can. They are only symptoms pointing to weakness, ineptitude, failure, or carelessness of the leaders, or even wrong style, wrong model, wrong environment, wrong climate, or wrong context of the leader. Many things affect leadership, and seldom do people know, because of poor leadership knowledge among our populace, not just leaders. The dearth of leadership is a reflection of the dearth of the right leadership knowledge and matching values.

That is why I wrote this book – to bring the right knowledge.

Leaders cause all troubles; leaders solve all troubles.

That’s why I concluded thus!
