Creativity Is Success Key#1 For Impact.

The world is greatly challenged economically and in leadership. Our peculiar case in the developing world is more imposing (bad) creating a rescue task for someone like me in helping individuals and organizations to walk out of the recession. But how many people can submit to knowledge in any challenged area of his/her? Especially in Africa, we don’t like knowledge (but we like university/polytechnic buildings and certificates); we also like ‘give me the cash, to hell with knowledge!’ That’s the bane of Africa’s backwardness. My years of traveling and speaking to organizations and individuals showed me this conclusion for good beginning in a year or new decision:

  1. Set your goals
  2. Craft vision
  3. Build commitment or strong principles to succeed and
  4. Pray and fast out every “idiotic” demon on your way; then you have started well.

Take these few CRITICAL KEYS to walk out, walk through recession unperturbed.

Creativity Is Success Key for impact
Creativity Is Success Key for Impact

Key#1 is CREATIVITY. Creativity is the act of turning new and imaginative IDEAS into reality. Creativity involves two processes: THINKING, and then PRODUCING. [I didn’t say thinking and producing instead I said thinking, and then producing.] Creativity is not Innovation (we will get to it.) You must know how to become it, know the tools and techniques, etc.

Creativity is the act of turning new and imaginative IDEAS into reality. It’s characterized by the ability to perceive the world in new ways, to find hidden patterns, to make connections between seemingly unrelated phenomena, and to generate solutions. The end of creativity is to GENERATE solutions. Imaginative is great but not creative.

In part 1, you read me saying creativity involves 2 processes: THINKING, then PRODUCING. Call this producing DOING or ACTING. The relationship between imagination and creativity is the same relationship between belief and faith. The last step of creativity and that of faith is ACTION. Ideas are raw materials for creativity [ideas are somewhere in this series.] If you have ideas but don’t act on them, you are IMAGINATIVE but not creative. Just like if you only regard or trust a thing or person, you believe in such but don’t have faith in it. If creativity is a pot of soap, it requires 2 terrible ingredients: PASSION and COMMITMENT.

Wow! When do we say something is creative? Wait until part 3 when we’ll cook the soup. How can we be creative? Do you know you have the mandate of being a small creator? Creativity is success key#1 for impact anywhere anytime.
