The starting place for demonstrating leadership capabilities is home. It’s also the smallest circle or base of influence. There is always a formula I use in calming people down when I sense a miss-up and disrespect in talking about leaders. I always ask them, “Hope you are married?”, “How many are members of your household?”, “What are they doing?” Or “who/what are they?” By the time I get here, I’m picking whether the person has demonstrated leading first in his/her home. You know it is easier to talk leading than to lead. It’s easier to see one who cannot control a girlfriend, or a wife talk disparagingly against the community, state, or corporate leaders. Begin to dispense leadership from home or where 2 or 3 are, right from today in case you haven’t been.
