8 habits of low-lifer never move forward, continues from Part 01.

8 habits of low-lifer never move forward

  1. They always appear busy but never PRODUCTIVE

This sounds counter-intuitive, isn’t it? But it’s true. Low-quality lifers are often caught in a cycle of busyness without productivity.

They’re always rushing, always doing something, but if you look closely, there’s very little progress. Sometimes moving around the cycles, sometimes rigmarole, zigzagging. This is because they confuse busyness with productivity. They fail to understand that being busy doesn’t necessarily mean you’re being effective or efficient. Please read my book “Dreams Never Die, It Fades; Refire & Live Your Dreams” for a better understanding of this. 8 habits of low-lifer who never move forward

It’s like running on a treadmill. You’re moving, but you’re not getting anywhere.

This habit of “busy work” distracts them from their goals and keeps them from moving forward. To break this cycle, one must learn to prioritize tasks and focus on quality over quantity. Maintaining TENACITY is prioritizing your tasks.

  1. They fear change and INNOVATION

Transformation, or change is inevitable. It’s the only constant in life, they say. Yet, low-quality people often fear change and resist it, preferring to stay in their comfort zones.

This resistance to change keeps them from growing and moving forward. They cling to the familiar, even if it’s detrimental to their progress. Instead of embracing new opportunities, they view them as threats. They can always say, “This is the way we do it here”.

But no change, no growth. Change is essential for growth. Every growth has a change happened. Change pushes us out of our comfort zones and helps us evolve.

Renowned psychologist Carl Rogers said, “The only person who is educated is the one who has learned how to learn and change.”

Don’t fear change – embrace it. Love it. It’s the first step towards moving forward in life.

  1. They compare themselves with/to OTHERS

It’s easy to fall into the trap of comparison, especially in this digital age where everyone’s ‘highlight reel’ is on display. But this habit is a certain way to stunt personal growth. The Bible condemns comparison with the strong word, “We are not like them that compare themselves with one another”.

When we constantly compare ourselves to others, we shift our focus from our journey to someone else’s. We benchmark ourselves with another instead of with a standard. We end up feeling inadequate and lose sight of our accomplishments and progress.

I choose to be dead to comparison, but it is not easy. It is easier said than done.

The truth is, life is not a race. Everyone’s path is unique and their own. Focus on your growth and celebrate your milestones, no matter how small they may seem. We are still on 8 habits of low-lifer who never move forward.

  1. They don’t value self-improvement or SELF DEVELOPMENT

Certainly, personal growth is not a destination, it’s a journey. But for low-quality people, the idea of self-improvement often takes a backseat. It is not necessary.

They are comfortable in their current state and lack the motivation and inspiration to improve or learn new skills. This complacency keeps them stagnant and and under and hinders their progress in life.

But the key to moving forward is constant learning and self-improvement. It’s about acknowledging our weaknesses and working on them, learning new skills, and constantly pushing our limits and raising the bar.

Remember the famous psychologist Abraham Maslow once said, “In any given moment we have two options: to step forward into growth or step back into safety.”
Make the choice, the determination to step forward, value self-improvement, and embrace growth. Note, that the biggest university in the world is the University of Self-Improvement.

Take Home

It’s all about awareness first, then action. Are you aware now? If so, ACT.
Understanding human behavior and habits is a complex task, deeply intertwined with our psychology.

The habits of low-quality people we’ve discussed are not set in stone. They can be changed with self-awareness, determination, dedication, and consistent effort.

Recognizing these habits in ourselves is the first step toward change. The next step? Taking action to replace them with positive ones.

In my books, The Times You Are Livin’ In Living Successfully In the 21st Century, and Dreams Never Die, It Fades; Refire and Live Your Dreams, I discussed deeper into the importance of self-awareness and willfulness to break free from these self-limiting behaviours.

It’s significant to remind ourselves that personal growth is a journey, and every journey begins with a single step. Whether it’s embracing change, cultivating self-discipline, or valuing self-improvement, each step takes us closer to becoming the best version of ourselves.

Again, I quote the famous psychologist Carl Rogers who once said, “The good life is a process, not a state of being. It is a direction, not a destination.” So, let’s embark on this journey of self-improvement and keep moving forward by stopping 8 habits of low-lifer who never move forward.

So, I stop here.
